Abstract:

AIB (forest firefighting system) is the set of all activities to extinguish, in the shortest time and with the least damage, a forest fire. Descriptive map illustrates the predisposing factors that contribute to determining the level of risk of fire in the most critical period (winter or summer) of the territory of the Italian National Parks. An information layer has been developed in which the variable under consideration is classified according to the degree of risk. So many layers of information have been obtained as to how many risk factors are being considered. The variables considered as environmental factors predisposing to the risk of fire are: climate, land use and topographical layout (gradient, exposure, altitude), considered responsible for determining both the occurrence of fires and fire behavior.
