Abstract
Vegetation survey data of the 69 ha study site Forellenbach in the National Park Bavarian Forest (LTER_EU_DE_015) between the years 1991 and 2000. The LTER site is part of the UNECE ICP Integrated Monitoring Network. The percentage ground cover of every vascular plant and moss species was determined on permanently marked subplots (1 m²) of a mature beech stand.

Method Description
Vegetation survey data of the 69 ha study site Forellenbach in the National Park Bavarian Forest (LTER_EU_DE_015) between the years 1991 and 2000. Vegetation data of the beech stand 60 were collected in a 50 x 50 m subarea which was further divided into 16 regular 12.5 × 12.5 m areas (1-16). In the centre of each of these areas, four adjacent 1 m2 subplots (10, 20, 30 and 40) were permanently marked by PVC poles. The percentage ground cover of every vascular plant and moss species was determined at the 1m2 subplot level. Scientific nomenclature for plants was standardized using the R package ?Taxonstand? version 2.1 (Cayuela et al. 2012).
